Donald Trump<\/a><\/strong> has always been a purveyor of celebrity gossip \u2014 so it\u2019s perhaps no surprise that he has some thoughts to share on John F. Kennedy Jr.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n The late businessman and attorney\u2019s fiery relationship with his wife, Carolyn Bessette <\/a><\/strong>Kennedy, has been of renewed interest. The Ryan Murphy<\/a>-produced FX series Love Story<\/a> focuses on the couple\u2019s inner lives and final moments before their tragic deaths in July 1999. The couple, alongside Carolyn\u2019s sister Lauren Bessette<\/a>, died when their plane, piloted by John, crashed into the Atlantic Ocean.<\/p>\n During his interview with Fox News\u2019 The Five series, the president was asked about his thoughts on the biographical series.<\/p>\n \u201cI actually knew him and liked him, and he liked me, believe it or not,\u201d\u00a0Trump said during the interview. Additionally, Trump pointed out the late Kennedy heir apparent \u201cactually put me on the cover of his magazine.\u201d<\/p>\n JFK Jr. founded George magazine \u2014 a lifestyle magazine with a focus on American politics and history, named after George Washington. However, there\u2019s one issue with his claim. Trump appeared on the cover in 2000, and JFK, along with his wife and sister-in-law, died in July 1999.<\/p>\n It\u2019s not the first time the president has exaggerated his relationships with famous figures. Earlier this month, he admitted he liked to tell people he had met Elvis Presley<\/a>. However, he revealed in his visit to the late star\u2019s Graceland home<\/a> that he had actually never met him.<\/p>\n Trump went on to claim that the couple had visited his famed Florida estate. \u201cThey would go down to Mar-a-Lago together, and they had a very interesting relationship,\u201d he said.
