A spokesperson for the Utah police department said that “allegations have been made in both directions” and “contact was made with involved parties on [Feb.] 24 and 25.”<\/p>\n Separately, the West Jordan Police Department opened<\/a> another \u201cactive domestic violence case\u201d involving Mortensen and Paul in February after Mortensen contacted the Utah police agency, a spokesperson for the department told PEOPLE on March 25. The spokesperson added that Mortensen had spoken to police in March for the investigation and had submitted video, which police believe is dated to \u201cearly-to-mid 2024.\u201d<\/p>\n Paul was previously arrested<\/a> in 2023 for alleged domestic violence, accused of throwing metal chairs at Mortensen while her then-5-year-old, Indy, was in the room \u2014\u00a0but the case has garnered new scrutiny after a video of the altercation<\/a> was published by TMZ on March 19. Hours after the release of the video \u2014 showing Paul yelling, putting Mortensen in a headlock and throwing chairs at him while a child could be heard crying \u2014\u00a0ABC cancelled Paul\u2019s already-filmed season<\/a> of The Bachelorette<\/em>, only three days before it was set to premiere.<\/p>\n (A rep for Paul previously told PEOPLE the video “conveniently omits context” and called its release a “reprehensible attempt [by Mortensen] to distract from his own behavior.” Mortensen responded<\/a> in his own statement to PEOPLE, writing, “I am, unfortunately, used to these baseless claims about me and our relationship, which I categorically deny.” With regard to the 2023 incident, Paul pleaded guilty in abeyance to aggravated assault and the other charges were dropped.)<\/p>\n Mortensen also filed for a protective order against<\/a> Paul on March 19, and a hearing has been set for April 7.<\/p>\n ‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ Cast Amid nonstop headlines surrounding Paul\u2019s legal troubles, Draper\u2019s husband Jordan Ngatikaura<\/a> filed for divorce<\/a> on March 19, telling PEOPLE in a statement after the filing, “While our paths are now moving in different directions, my priority remains my children and ensuring they feel loved, supported, and protected through this transition. I am committed to handling this next chapter with kindness and respect.” (The pair share kids Jagger, 5, and Jovi, 3.)<\/p>\n The following day, Ngatikaura filed for a restraining order<\/a> against Draper, which Draper opposed the same day.<\/p>\n Draper spoke out<\/a> for the first time after Ngatikaura\u2019s filing on an episode of Call Her Daddy<\/em><\/a>, released on March 25, claiming that she had learned of her estranged husband\u2019s divorce filing from TMZ. The reality TV star also alleged that she was subjected to \u201cemotional abuse\u201d during their marriage, that Ngatikaura was frequently critical of her parenting, time management and how she cleaned the house, claiming he wanted her to “start doing Pilates every single day\u201d and that he wanted them to embrace more “traditional gender roles.”<\/p>\n Ngatikaura has not commented to PEOPLE about Draper\u2019s latest claims regarding his divorce filing or emotional abuse during their relationship. He previously told PEOPLE<\/a> in November \u2014 responding to claims she had made then that he was emotionally abusive during their relationship \u2014 that he took \u201cfull accountability for the pain I caused Jessi during our marriage.\u201d<\/p>\n On March 26, reports emerged that Draper and Chase McWhorter<\/a> \u2014\u00a0the ex-husband of Mormon Wives<\/em> cast member Miranda Hope<\/a> \u2014\u00a0had recently been spotted kissing at a party.
