It turns out that Chad Michael Murray <\/b><\/a>was unaware of the teen frenzy that he unleashed by inviting Hilary Duff <\/b><\/a>to her frenemy Lindsay Lohan<\/b><\/a>\u2019s Freaky Friday <\/i>premiere.<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t know there was a feud,\u201d Murray, 44, said during a Wednesday, March 25, interview<\/span><\/a> with Virgin Radio Toronto<\/i>. \u201cHow was I supposed to know there was a feud? I found out quickly after.\u201d<\/p>\n

Duff, 38, confirmed on the \u201cCall Her Daddy\u201d podcast last month that she \u201ccrashed\u201d the August 2003 premiere of Murray and Lohan\u2019s Freaky Friday<\/i> premiere despite the women\u2019s then-infamous <\/span>drama<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cChad Michael Murray invited, why? I don\u2019t want to start any more stuff, but he was, like, \u2018You should come with me,\u2019\u201d Duff recalled on the February episode<\/span><\/a>. \u201cI was, like, \u2018Mhm, probably I should.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tAfter A Cinderella Story was released in 2004, stars such as Hilary Duff and Chad Michael Murray continued to find success in the industry. The film, which was a take on Cinderella folklore, focused on the blossoming romance between two internet pen pals who never met in person. They plan to meet at their high [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Murray and Duff had been filming A Cinderella Story <\/i><\/a>ahead of the Freaky Friday <\/i>red carpet. (Murray, of course, played the love interest of both ladies in the two films.)<\/p>\n

\u201c[Hilary and I] were filming, and we had a big kissing sequence,\u201d Murray recalled on Wednesday. \u201cThey wanted our characters to get to know each other and they\u2019re, like, \u2018You guys need to hang out, get to know each other. We don\u2019t need people clamming up.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cWe started spending time together, it was great [and] super sweet.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Murray, he invited Duff to the red carpet premiere since they had no additional \u201cfree time\u201d to connect between film takes.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy the way, I didn\u2019t understand that there was drama or that would even cause a thing,\u201d he admitted. \u201cLike, nowadays, I can understand that we\u2019re so kind of in the know with social media, it\u2019d be an obvious [thing, but] back then, it wasn\u2019t obvious that it was a thing. I just thought two people are going to go hang out, cool, it\u2019s awesome. It wasn\u2019t anything that kept me up at night.\u201d<\/p>\n

Duff and Lohan, 39, sparked a feud after they both dated Aaron Carter <\/b><\/a>in the early 2000s.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was dating [Hilary] for like a year and a half, and then I just got a little bored, so I went and started getting to know Lindsay, dating Lindsay,\u201d Carter, who died in 2022, said on The Big Idea With Donny Deutsch <\/i>in 2005. \u201cThen I didn\u2019t want to do that anymore, so I got back with Hilary.\u201d<\/p>\n

While speaking on the \u201cCall Her Daddy\u201d podcast, Duff acknowledged the relationship overlap.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is where all this stuff started. There was no social media to be like, who was dating who?\u201d Duff recalled. \u201cYou just take people\u2019s word for it and then people get mad at you. I mean if you\u2019re, like, Lindsay Lohan or me, he\u2019s, like, probably dating both of us, like, you know what I mean?\u201d<\/p>\n
