Chvrches<\/a> debuted a new song, \u2018Conman\u2019, during their set at Robert Smith<\/a>\u2019s Teenage Cancer Trust\u2019s Royal Albert Hall gig series \u2013 see footage below.<\/p>\n The band were added to the line-up for the charity concert series curated by The Cure<\/a> frontman, who stepped in as the curator<\/a> this year in the place of The Who<\/a>\u2019s\u00a0Roger Daltrey<\/a>. They join\u00a0other names for the 2026 edition<\/a>, including Garbage<\/a>,\u00a0Wolf Alice<\/a>, Manic Street Preachers<\/a>,\u00a0Elbow<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0My Bloody Valentine<\/a>.<\/p>\n Last night (March 27), they took to the stage together for the first time in \u201calmost three years\u201d, and used the occasion to debut a new track titled \u2018Conman\u2019.<\/p>\n \u201cI promise I\u2019m not just inside watching telly all the time, we have been making a record,\u201d Lauren Mayberry told the crowd. \u201cAnd we thought, since this is a special night, we would play something off that record for you guys. So be kind to us, we\u2019ve never played this in front of human beings before.\u201d<\/p>\n The track opens with a pulsing, industrial bass, as Mayberry sings: \u201cA man made for the microphone fills my pockets full of stones\/All of his wives, all of his nine lives dance on the edge of a knife.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n It unfolds with grating guitar riffs and urgent, stirring vocal cries from Mayberry, introducing a heavier, post-punk sound for the band.
