Jill Duggar<\/a><\/b>\u2018s\u00a0family is a source of reprieve after her brother Joseph Duggar <\/b><\/a>was arrested for alleged sexual misconduct involving a child.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo thankful for some extra family time at the beach over spring break,\u201d Jill, 34, wrote via Instagram<\/span><\/a> on Saturday, March 28, sharing photos with husband Derick Dillard <\/b>and their three sons. \u201cGod knew this week away was exactly what we\u2019d need when we planned it months ago.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jill and Dillard, 37, planned to take their kids to Orange Beach, Alabama, before Joseph\u2019s March 18 arrest<\/span><\/a> in Arkansas on charges of lewd and lascivious behavior following 2020 child molestation accusations. The victim, who was 9 at the time and is now 14, told police that Joseph \u201ceventually apologized for his actions\u201d at the time before \u201cthe incidents stopped.\u201d<\/p>\n

Joseph not offered a plea and is currently awaiting extradition to Florida, where the alleged assault took place.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tMultiple members of the Duggar family have reacted to Joseph Duggar\u2019s arrest on child molestation charges. Joseph, who rose to fame alongside his family on the reality series 19 Kids and Counting, was taken into custody after being accused of molesting a 9-year-old girl while on a family vacation in Panama City Beach, Florida, in [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Us Weekly <\/i>confirmed two days later that Joseph is also facing four counts<\/span><\/a> of endangering the welfare of a minor, second degree, and four counts of second degree false imprisonment. Joseph\u2019s wife, Kendra Duggar<\/b>, was arrested on the same charges and released on bond<\/a> within hours. (Joseph and Kendra, 27, have been married since 2017 and share four children.)<\/p>\n

\u201cThank y\u2019all for the love and prayers during this difficult time of heartbreak and continued processing,\u201d Jill added in her Saturday post, going on to cite a Bible verse from Lamentations. \u201c\u2018The Lord is my portion,\u2019 says my soul, \u2018therefore I will hope in him.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Jill initially broke her silence<\/span><\/a> on Joseph\u2019s arrest on March 19.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were shocked yesterday evening to learn of Jill\u2019s brother [Joseph Duggar\u2019s] arrest,\u201d Jill and Dillard wrote in a joint statement. \u201cWe first learned of anything related to his charges yesterday via a text from a friend who messaged us about the recent media reports of Joseph\u2019s arrest and his alleged confession to molesting a juvenile female in 2020. We are shocked and heartbroken.\u201d<\/p>\n

They continued, \u201cWe strongly condemn abuse. We support the rule of law and hope that justice will be achieved. Our hearts go out to the innocent juvenile victim of this unspeakable crime and her family. We pray God gives her strength, comfort and hope, and that she is able to get all the help and support she needs and deserves in the days ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n
