As Peter Alexander <\/b>prepared to sign off from Saturday Today<\/i><\/span><\/a> <\/i>for the last time, he offered a solemn message to Savannah Guthrie <\/b><\/a>amid her mom\u2019s continued disappearance.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re in the business of using words, [but] I got no words to describe what this place has meant to me,\u201d Alexander, 49, said during the Saturday, March 28, broadcast<\/span><\/a>. \u201cNBC is at my core, through and through. I love everybody here. I wish everyone continued success.\u201d<\/p>\n

Alexander, who joined NBC News as a TV journalist in 2004, further noted that he \u201chad a chance\u201d to speak with Guthrie, 54, before his departure.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had a chance to exchange messages with our friend Savannah, who I love so much,\u201d Alexander added. \u201cI\u2019m thrilled that she\u2019s going to come back here, and we\u2019ll continue to pray for her.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tSavannah Guthrie\u2018s return date to the Today show has been revealed. Savannah, 54, stepped away from the show in February after her mother, Nancy Guthrie, was reported missing in Arizona. Savannah\u2019s coworkers continued to show their support on the air amid the investigation into Nancy\u2019s whereabouts. \u201cShe is not going to let sadness win,\u201d Craig [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Savannah, who hosts the weekday iteration of Today,<\/i> took a step from the morning show in February days after her mom, Nancy Guthrie<\/b>, was reported missing in Arizona. Savannah will return to the NBC morning show beginning Monday, April 6.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I look at the Today show, it\u2019s the answer to all of my dreams, actually better than my dreams,\u201d Savannah said during a Today <\/i>sit-down<\/span><\/a> with Hoda Kotb <\/b>that aired Friday, March 27. \u201cIt\u2019s hard to imagine doing it because it\u2019s such a place of joy and lightness. I can\u2019t come back and try to be something that I\u2019m not.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cI can\u2019t not come back because it\u2019s my family. I think it\u2019s part of my purpose right now. I want to smile, and when I do, it will be real. And my joy will be my protest. My joy will be my answer.\u201d<\/p>\n

Local Arizona police are still investigating Nancy\u2019s whereabouts nearly one month since she was first reported missing. Savannah and her siblings, Annie <\/b>and Camron<\/b>, have since relied on their faith while continuing to seek updates about their 84-year-old mother\u2019s disappearance and possible kidnapping.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy faith is strong and resolute<\/span><\/a>. I early on felt \u2014 and I heard for one of the very few times in my life \u2014 I did hear God speak to me,\u201d Savannah told Kotb, 61. \u201cAs I said to myself, \u2018I can handle anything, God. I can handle anything, I just can\u2019t handle not knowing. I have to know.\u2019 I heard a voice and it said, \u2018You do know where she is \u2014 she\u2019s with me.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Savannah acknowledged that she wasn\u2019t sure whether Nancy was \u201con this earth still\u201d or \u201cin heaven,\u201d\u00a0 she wants to find peace.<\/p>\n
