Prince Harry remains keen for his children to spend more time
\nwith King Charles III and it\u2019s now reported that Sandringham is
\nbeing talked about as a possible destination for such a
\nreunion.<\/p>\n
The Sunday Times reports that a friend of Harry\u2019s is suggesting
\nthat an invitation from King Charles to the Sussexes to visit the
\nNorfolk estate would lead to the enhanced security for a trip that
\nthe family has been asking for.<\/p>\n
Prince Harry is currently awaiting the outcome of a review into
\nhis security arrangements by the Royal and VIP Executive Committee,
\nknown as Ravec. It is tasked with making the final decision on the
\nlevel of security given to people including Harry. He asked for the
\nreview after losing a long legal case with the government over the
\nlevel of security he receives when in the UK.<\/p>\n
Currently, Prince Harry funds his own security when in the
\ncountry and relies on unarmed protection personnel. He wants the
\nlevel of protection he had while still a working member of the
\nRoyal Family and says it isn\u2019t safe to bring his wife and children
\nto the country without it.<\/p>\n
Now, a friend of Prince Harry has suggested that if The King
\nwere to invite the Duke and Duchess of Sussex along with Prince
\nArchie and Princess Lillibet to the country, they would get the
\nlevel of protection that they feel is needed.<\/p>\n
And it\u2019s been suggested that a stay at Charles III\u2019s Norfolk
\nhome, Sandringham, would be the ideal place for such a visit to
\ntake place.<\/p>\n
Sandringham is the private property of the Monarch. It was
\nbought by the future Edward VII in the 19th century and has since
\nbeen left by each Monarch to the person who succeeds them although
\nit is a personal gift rather than part of the Crown Estate. That
\nmeans it is up to the Monarch who lives there and on the properties
\nwithin the wider estate.<\/p>\n
The former prince Andrew is currently moving into a home on the
\nSandringham estate having surrendered his lease on Royal Lodge on
\nthe Windsor estate. He had lived in the thirty room mansion for
\nover twenty years on a peppercorn rent. He agreed to surrender the
\nlease at the same time that Charles III stripped him of all his
\ntitles and royal honours. Since then, he has been known as Andrew
\nMountbatten-Windsor and removed from all aspects of royal life
\nalthough he remains in the line of succession.<\/p>\n
King Charles often spends weekends at Sandringham while the
\nPrince and Princess of Wales have a home at nearby Anmer Hall,
\ngiven to them by Queen Elizabeth II.<\/p>\n
The Sunday Times now quotes a friend of Harry saying \u201dif he was
\ninvited by The King, he would get a package of security that
\nautomatically kicks in. He\u2019d like an invite to Sandringham. Would
\nhe go? It would depend who was there.\u201d<\/p>\n
Prince Harry spent just under an hour with King Charles in
\nSeptember 2025 when he was in London. It\u2019s understood the two men
\nhaven\u2019t met since then.<\/p>\n
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex live in California with their two
\nchildren. They settled there after giving up their roles as working
\nroyals in 2020. In recent weeks, the departure of the Sussexes from
\nroyal life and the subsequent fall out including interviews they
\nhave given and TV programmes they have made, has been highlighted
\nin two new books. In one, Hugo Vickers wrote that Queen Elizabeth
\nII encouraged Prince Harry to wait at least a year before marrying
\nMeghan Markle but he chose to act differently. He also writes that
\ncalls by Prince William for Harry to wait before marrying were one
\nof the reasons the brothers had initially fallen out.<\/p>\n
