Black Label Society have shared a touching music video for their tribute track, \u2018Ozzy\u2019s Song\u2019, written in honour of the late Black Sabbath singer. <\/h2>\n

Black Label Society have shared a new music video for the track \u2018Ozzy\u2019s Song\u2019, taken from their <\/a>new album Engines of Demolition<\/a><\/em>, which was released yesterday via MRNK. <\/p>\n

The new track is a surprising ballad that closes out the album and is, of course, about the late Black Sabbath singer Ozzy Osbourne<\/a>. It\u2019s a track that\u2019s been long-awaited from frontman Zakk Wylde, who joined Osbourne\u2019s band when he was only 19 years old. <\/p>\n

A live rendition of \u2018Ozzy\u2019s Song\u2019 was released as a single ahead of the album\u2019s release. Now the band have released an official music video for the song directed by Justin H. Reich. <\/p>\n

In an interview with S\u00e3o Paulo, Brazil\u2019s 89 FM A R\u00e1dio Rock recently, Wylde would go on to reveal he\u2019s had parts of the song written before Ozzy\u2019s passing. Although it wasn\u2019t until his death that Wylde was able to find the words to sing with the track:<\/p>\n

\u201c\u200aYeah, I had the music written \u2019cause we\u2019d been writing this album for the last three and a half years, almost four years. So, we stockpiled all these songs and I was real happy with the way the music came out. And then I figured eventually I\u2019ll finish the song,\u201d Wylde shared (per MetalSucks<\/em><\/a>). <\/p>\n

\u201cBut then after we laid Ozzy to rest, when we got back home, we took a break from Pantera celebration [touring with the reformed Pantera]. I sat in a little library room in our house. I just put the headphones on at about one o\u2019clock in the morning and I was looking at a book of Ozzy and I just wrote the lyrics. And that\u2019s what came out.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy wife would always be listening to it in the truck, Barbaranne, she\u2019d be, like, \u2018Babe, put on Ozzy\u2019s song again.\u2019 So that was pretty much just the working title. It\u2019s just, like, well, it\u2019s Ozzy\u2019s song. So, people would always be asking, like, \u2018I wonder since Zakk wrote a song for [late Pantera guitarist] Dimebag [Darrell Abbott],\u2019 and now we sing it for [late Pantera drummer] Vinnie [Paul Abbott] as well, \u2018with \u2018In This River\u2019, I wonder if Zakk will write a song for Ozzy on the new album.\u2019 So, it\u2019s only fitting. We just called it \u2018Ozzy\u2019s Song\u2019. So that\u2019s how we ended up with \u2018Ozzy\u2019s Song\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n
