San Diego Padres closer Mason Miller<\/strong> has gone full n\u00fc-metal with his latest on-field entrance, choosing a defining track from Korn<\/a><\/strong> as his walk-up music.<\/p>\n During yesterday’s (March 28) clash against the Detroit Tigers, Miller<\/strong> strode to the mound to the sound of “Blind” \u2013 the lead single from Korn<\/strong>‘s genre-defining, 2x platinum self-titled 1994 debut.<\/p>\n Miller<\/strong>, born August 24, 1998, is currently pitching for the San Diego Padres, having previously played for the Oakland Athletics. Since making his MLB debut in 2023, he has quickly risen through the ranks, earning an All-Star selection in 2024.<\/p>\n “Blind” itself carries a storied legacy within the n\u00fc-metal canon. The track was originally written while frontman Jonathan Davis<\/strong> was still a member of Sexart<\/strong>, prior to his departure to form Korn<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Korn<\/strong>‘s definitive version arrived when the band re-recorded the song for their 1994 debut LP. Though the core of the track had been completed during the Sexart<\/strong> era, Korn<\/strong> expanded on it significantly \u2013 introducing an extended intro inspired by the drum pattern from Primus<\/strong>‘ “Too Many Puppies,” layering cymbals and a subtle bassline to build tension before the original arrangement kicks in.<\/p>\n
