Amy Duggar King<\/strong><\/a> is subtly addressing cousin Joseph Duggar<\/strong>\u2019<\/a>s claim he\u2019s reading the Bible in jail following his arrest for child molestation.<\/p>\n

\u201cOK, I just had to get something off my chest real quick. The bible is not a PR strategy. You can read scripture day and night, all the time, and still avoid the truth. I mean, highlighting verses isn\u2019t going to rewrite your actions. We cannot use faith as a coverup,\u201d Amy, 39, said in a Sunday, March 29, Instagram<\/a> post. \u201cSo, God isn\u2019t impressed by your reading.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cHe\u2019s impressed with transformation. He\u2019s impressed when someone steps out and literally heals by telling the truth. If there\u2019s no change in your life, then there\u2019s no real repentance.\u201d<\/p>\n

Amy captioned the post, \u201cYou shall know them by their fruit. Can I get an Amen?\u201d<\/p>\n

News broke earlier this month that Joseph, 31, was arrested<\/a> on suspicion of lewd and lascivious behavior involving molestation of a victim less than 12 years old and lewd and lascivious behavior conducted by a person 18 years or older. The arrest came after a 14-year-old girl alleged that Joseph molested her when they were on vacation in Panama City Beach, Florida, in 2020.<\/p>\n

Joseph appeared in court virtually on March 20 and did not enter a plea. He also waived his right to an extradition hearing. He is currently awaiting extradition to Florida.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been spending a lot of time reading, uh, reading the Bible<\/a>, they got me a Bible in here,\u201d Joseph told wife Kendra Duggar<\/strong> during a phone call from the detention center obtained by People on Friday, March 27. \u201cI\u2019m in solitary [confinement].\u201d<\/p>\n

Joseph told his wife, with whom he shares four kids, that he\u2019s spending \u201c23 hours of the day\u201d in \u201can 8-by-10 area\u201d at the detention center.<\/p>\n

\u201cPretty small area, but I\u2019ve been able to read a lot actually, and resting some, but I\u2019m not sleeping great through the night,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tAmy Duggar King has thanked fans on behalf of her family following the arrests of her cousin Joseph Duggar and his wife, Kendra Duggar. The 19 Kids and Counting alum, 39, shared a message from the \u201cGod Lady Talk\u201d Instagram account on Friday, March 27, which read, \u201cSurround yourself with people who pray for you [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Days after Joseph\u2019s arrest, Us Weekly<\/em> confirmed that Kendra, 27, was also arrested. She was released that same day on a $1,470 bond. The pair are both facing charges of endangering the welfare of a minor and four counts of second-degree false imprisonment.<\/p>\n

A source with knowledge of the case exclusively told Us<\/em> on March 21 that Kendra\u2019s arrest \u201chas nothing to do with Joseph\u2019s\u201d<\/a> molestation charge, but claimed \u201cone precipitated the other.\u201d<\/p>\n
