Burn Notice<\/em><\/a> alum Jeffrey Donovan<\/strong><\/a> is opening up about his decision to leave Hollywood for Colorado.<\/p>\n

The 57-year-old actor wed Colorado native Michelle Woods<\/strong> in 2012 and said they are happily raising their three children in the state.<\/p>\n

\u201cI met my future wife while I was finishing a job, and she was from Colorado, and once I started visiting there, I never stopped,\u201d Donovan told Fox News Digital<\/a> earlier this month. \u201cIt\u2019s an incredible state, and I\u2019m raising my children there, and we\u2019re never leaving.\u201d<\/p>\n

Donovan and Woods share three children: Claire, Lucas and Ethan. According to the actor, raising his children in Colorado is much easier than having kids in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

\u201cI find it less challenging in Colorado, which plays to my talent level of raising kids,\u201d Donovan said. \u201cIf it\u2019s not hard raising kids in Colorado, then that\u2019s where I wanna be.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Sicario<\/em> star continued to gush about his adopted home state, saying, \u201cColorado, secretly, is the sunshine state. It\u2019s a beautiful part of the country that gets more sunshine than maybe even Arizona and New Mexico. It\u2019s incredible. So that\u2019s why we\u2019re there. And it\u2019s really healthy living.\u201d<\/p>\n

Donovan isn\u2019t the only star to ditch Los Angeles for a quieter life elsewhere.<\/p>\n

\u201cL.A. was wild at the time,\u201d Smallville<\/em> star Tom Welling<\/strong> said of moving to North Carolina after the COVID-19 pandemic. \u201cThere were no cars on the street, you couldn\u2019t go anywhere. People weren\u2019t leaving their homes. Our first son was starting to crawl and we only had this tiny deck for him to play on. There was this thought of, \u2018We don\u2019t know if we can be here anymore.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Welling added, \u201cWe have American sport horses, jumpers, and we breed. I\u2019m more than happy to help, but [my wife] is the captain of that ship. It\u2019s peaceful. And it feels real.\u201d<\/p>\n
