I can\u2019t say I love everything he\u2019s done, but I really do like quite a bit of it. 1999\u2019s <em>Play<\/em> was his fifth album and a huge commercial success, but 1995\u2019s <em>Everything Is Wrong <\/em>and <em>Animal Rights <\/em>from 1996 are my two favorite albums of that era. In 2013 and 2018 he released <em>Innocents <\/em>and <em>Everything Is Beautiful, And Nothing Hurt<\/em> which are both great albums that combined instrumentals as well as tracks with guest vocalists. Some live videos from this era really showcase the breadth of his songwriting, arranging, and production. The track \u201cAlmost Home\u201d with Damien Jurado on <em>Innocents<\/em> is a stand out.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Alex McKenzie interviewed Moby for <em>Tape Op<\/em> <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" class=\"text-blue-600 hover:underline dark:text-blue-400\" href=\"https:\/\/tapeop.com\/interviews\/73\/moby\">#73<\/a> in 2009, and there are some cool photos in that piece of his then massive vintage drum machine collection.\u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"jeg_video_container jeg_video_content\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Moby &amp; Jacob Lusk - &#039;When It&#039;s Cold I&#039;d Like To Die&#039; (Official Audio)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/EWGOlPZack8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>Thanks to a sync in the Netflix show <em>Stranger Things,<\/em> his music is getting another listen from a new audience. He\u2019s getting ready to release a new mostly ambient LP, <em>Future Quiet<\/em>, on Feb 20 and the first track and video for a new version of\u00a0 \u201cWhen It\u2019s Cold I\u2019d Like to Die\u201d featuring vocals from Jacob Lusk of Gabriels are out now.
