Americana singer-songwriter Brooke Ashton has recently released her latest long-player, The Love of Song<\/em>, a collection of songs that explore motifs of motherhood, self-discovery, and the power of music.<\/p>\n

Ashton shares, \u201c\u2018The \u2018Love of Song\u2019 is a heartfelt album full of songs carefully selected to take the listener on a journey. It was born out of a lifelong relationship with music as both a refuge and companion. Each track was written in honest moments where melodies helped me make sense of real life.\u201d<\/p>\n

While recording The Love of Song<\/em>, Ashton<\/a> lost her producer and close friend. The loss, along with other obligations, resulted in the album taking three years to finish.<\/p>\n

Originally from Pennsylvania and now living in South Carolina, Ashton\u2019s songs reveal a conviction in the healing power of music, its ability to connect people, and its honesty.<\/p>\n

According to Ashton, \u201cMusic and songwriting have been a lifeline through every season of my life. I couldn\u2019t keep these songs from the world \u2013 not with the chance that someone might benefit from hearing them. I didn\u2019t set out to make a statement with this album. I just followed the songs where they led, and in the end, it became a reflection of how deeply I love the craft of songwriting.\u201d<\/p>\n
