Used to spill it all, now we hardly speak and the anxious thoughts got me losin\u2019 sleep \u2013 is there something I don\u2019t know?<\/em><\/p>\n It was 64\u00b0 yesterday when the sun was coming up and I scraped ice off my windshield this morning to go get coffee; <\/span>you never really know what you\u2019re going to get, and sometimes you don\u2019t know what you have.<\/p>\n With his newest single released under his project Speak Low, Ryan Scott Graham pens a track focused on the uncertainty that can come with the things we experience every day and how we\u2019re forced to deal with them; sometimes we change things and sometimes things just change.<\/span><\/p>\n Sidestepping from his role as bassist for pop-punk powerhouse State Champs, Graham channels the softer side of casual angst and anxieties. Similar to another \u201cmore somber side side-project\u201d from a scene veteran, the track is more Aaron West than The Wonder Years, and is a perfect fit for this time of year when the changing seasons refuse to pick a side. Bright and upbeat while also cool and calm, \u201cOne Good Look\u201d explores the questions that don\u2019t always have answers \u2013<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWhat happened to the person I knew who fell out of a dream?\u201d \u2026\u00a0 <\/span>\u201cWhere did it all go? \/ What happened to the person I knew, are you there just underneath?\u201d <\/em><\/span><\/p>\n In the same vein as some of my current heavy rotation \u2013 acts like Cameron Whitcomb, Evan Honer, <\/span>Tortured<\/em> Poet<\/em><\/span>-era Taylor, etc., there\u2019s sunny pop charm in an overcoat on \u201cOne Good Look.\u201d There\u2019s heart, but there\u2019s hurt; there\u2019s a curiosity but it\u2019s cautious.<\/span><\/p>\n

I never used to be much of a morning person \u2013 got switched from closing shifts to openings a while back. I used to write stuff or shoot stuff a few times a week. But it\u2019s been about a year since I\u2019ve done anything. So twelve-ish months, a different work schedule and two apartments later, here we are.<\/p>\n
