Jenny McCarthy is finally on the mend after mysterious health problems caused her to go through \u201cliving hell\u201d over the last year.<\/p>\n
Four months after The Masked Singer <\/em>star revealed that she had been suffering from growths on her eyes<\/a> and having her teeth fall out, McCarthy, 53, revealed on Tuesday\u2019s episode of Maria Menounos\u2019 Heal Squad <\/em>podcast that it all stemmed from an \u201cinfected root canal\u201d she got years prior.<\/p>\n After the root canal \u201cwasn\u2019t cleaned out all the way,\u201d McCarthy claimed that she developed a jawbone infection with \u201cthree of these little toxic pools hiding underneath my wisdom teeth.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThere was an infection left in there and a bone grafted on top of it, so I went on my merry way with infection brewing in my bone,\u201d she explained, adding that despite multiple oral surgeries<\/a>, her mouth \u201cjust kept getting infected.\u201d<\/p>\n McCarthy\u2019s symptoms also included \u201cawful\u201d insomnia and leg cramps that were so intense that she\u2019d \u201cwake up crying,\u201d as well as \u201clittle lesions\u201d on her eyes that \u201clooked like the nastiest whitehead pus-filled eraser top.\u201d<\/p>\n McCarthy said her doctor blamed mycotoxin poisoning for her various symptoms. Ingesting mycotoxins over a period of time can cause long-term illness and can affect mental function and increase the risk of developing asthma and cancer, as per the Cleveland Clinic<\/a>. <\/p>\n \u201cThe reason why you\u2019re having constant infections, your body won\u2019t heal, you\u2019re oozing things, is because you have mold. You have mycotoxin poisoning,\u201d McCarthy said her doctor told her. \u201cMold releases this toxin in the dust particles, and what happens is most people \u2026 with good immune systems can handle it. People with weaker immune systems, people with leaky gut, candida, things I am already fighting [can\u2019t].\u201d<\/p>\n
