(TNND) \u2014 <\/span>King Charles III will undertake a state visit to the United States in April to celebrate the 250th anniversary of American Independence and mark the “historic connections and the modern bilateral relationship between the U.K. and the U.S.,” Buckingham Palace announced<\/a> Tuesday. <\/p>\n

The visit follows President Donald Trump’s state visit to the U.K.<\/a> in September, where he received a full royal welcome and called the king a “longtime friend.” <\/p>\n

His lavish stay ended with a meeting with Prime Minister Keir Starmer and a historic tech deal.<\/a><\/p>\n

During the signing, Trump called the relationship between the U.S. and U.K. an “unbreakable bond” while Starmer welcomed U.S. investment and talked up the U.K.’s achievements.<\/p>\n

Trump said their majesties will visit the U.S. between April 27 and April 30th, which will include a “beautiful Banquet Dinner at the White House” on April 28.<\/p>\n

“This momentous occasion will be even more special this year, as we commemorate the 250th Anniversary of our Great Country,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “I look forward to spending time with the King, whom I greatly respect. It will be TERRIFIC!”<\/p>\n

Charles has visited the U.S. 19 times, but it will be his first state visit to the country. His mother, Queen Elizabeth II, undertook four state visits to the U.S.<\/p>\n
