Smith let loose on Tiger Woods on Tuesday after the legendary golfer was arrested on suspicion of DUI following a rollover crash<\/a> involving prescription medications in Florida last week. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n The incident marks the second time Woods has been arrested for a DUI \u2014 not as a result of the influence of alcohol \u2014 since 2017. The 15-time major tournament winner was also involved in other auto-related incidents over the years, including crashing his SUV into a fire hydrant in 2009 and a single-car rollover crash in February 2021. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Appearing on Chris Cuomo\u2019s NewsNation program on Tuesday, Smith stressed that Woods \u201cdesperately\u201d needs help. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cYou had this problem in 2017 when they found you asleep in your car on the side of the road. You had this problem in 2021 when you crashed into a tree and tumbled over and almost got yourself killed,\u201d Smith said<\/a> of Woods. \u201cYou had this issue again last Friday. All three times, you\u2019re inebriated and you\u2019re behind the wheel of a car.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n The sports commentator suggested that the incident was avoidable, considering Woods, who is the second-highest-paid athlete of all time behind Michael Jordan, \u201ccan afford a car service.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cWhat the hell are you doing getting behind the wheel of a car?\u201d Smith decried. \u201cMost of us would be in jail. Remember the second incident in 2021. They didn\u2019t even \u2014 they didn\u2019t charge him. They didn\u2019t make him take an alcohol, you know, breathalyzer test. They didn\u2019t test his blood, any of that stuff. He was hospitalized. They left him alone.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Arguing that the public believes the golf icon has \u201cgotten away with a lot\u201d amid his run-ins with the law, Smith added, \u201cAnd they\u2019re sick and tired of it, because they\u2019re saying, \u2018What is it going to take? Is he going to kill someone?\u2019 You never thought that you would hear such a verbiage accorded towards Tiger Woods.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Woods was arrested on suspicion of DUI following a rollover crash on Jupiter Island, Florida, just before 2 p.m. on Friday. The Martin County Sheriff said that Woods was traveling at \u201chigh speeds<\/a>\u201d on a residential road. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n The golfer agreed to a Breathalyzer test that showed no signs of alcohol, but refused a urine test and was arrested. TMZ reported<\/a> that authorities found Woods had two hydrocodone pills in his pocket at the time of his arrest. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n A deputy said Woods, who has a documented history of struggling with pain medications following chronic back injuries and multiple surgeries, was \u201clethargic and slow\u201d and showed \u201csevere signs of impairment,\u201d according to an affidavit obtained by the outlet. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Smith had also criticized Woods on Monday\u2019s episode of his eponymous Sirius XM show. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cMy brother, you got issues with drugs … Stop getting behind the damn wheel! … Just stop before you do something you can\u2019t come back from,\u201d he said. <\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Watch Stephen A.
