In 2017, she revealed that she is a stricter parent than she expected to be.<\/p>\n \u201cI was in a band and free my whole life, so I always thought I would be really free with [my kids] and do whatever I wanted, like, \u2018Oh, I\u2019ll take them out of school,\u2019\u201d she told People<\/a><\/em> at the time. \u201cBut you learn that when they have boundaries is when they feel the safest.\u201d<\/p>\n While Stefani acknowledged that sticking to her disciplinary rules for her kids<\/a> was \u201cthe hardest thing,\u201d she believed \u201cthat\u2019s where you get the results.\u201d<\/p>\n After Stefani\u2019s 2015 split from Rossdale, she moved on with now-husband Blake Shelton<\/a><\/strong>, whom she wed in 2021. Over the years, the country crooner, 49, has spoken about his role as a stepfather to Stefani\u2019s children.<\/p>\n \u201cI take it very serious.
