The much anticipated royal wedding of the summer has been firmed
\nup but there was an unexpected hiccup in the arrangements.<\/p>\n
Peter Phillips, eldest grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II and
\nPrince Philip, will wed Harriet Sperling on June 6 in a church
\nceremony.<\/p>\n
The couple announced their engagement last August.<\/p>\n
However, their wedding announcement ran into a hiccup. The first
\nstatement, issued on April 1 2026, announced the wedding date as
\nJuly 6. Just minutes later, a fresh communication set the date as
\nJune 6.<\/p>\n
The wedding will take place in a church in Kemble near
\nCirencester, close to the home of Princess Anne, Peter\u2019s
\nmother.<\/p>\n
The church is nestled in the heart of the village of Kemble and
\nhas a distinctive spire that can be seen from miles around.<\/p>\n
The church was founded in the 12th century although a major
\nrestoration took place in the late 1800s.<\/p>\n
It also has a striking stained glass feature called the
\nMillennium Window.<\/p>\n
Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling had been dating for several
\nyears before announcing their engagement. Ms Sperling has worked as
\na nurse in the NHS.<\/p>\n
Peter Phillips was previously married to Autumn Kelly with whom
\nhe has two daughters. Savannah is 15 and Isla is 14. Harriet
\nSperling has a daughter from a previous relationship.<\/p>\n
Both wedding announcements said that The King and Queen and the
\nPrince and Princess of Wales had been informed.<\/p>\n
It now remains to be seen who will attend what will be a society
\nwedding of the year.<\/p>\n
