One year ago today on April 1, 2025, WU LYF announced their return<\/a>. In February, they finally shared details of A Wave That Will Never Break<\/a><\/em>, their first album in 15 years. Right on schedule, for April Fool’s Day 2026, WU LYF have released another new single from the album called…”The Fool.” It’s a gradually-building love song about being foolishly in love: “After all the heart break and the letting go\/ We found the punchline to the cosmic joke,” Ellery Roberts proclaims.<\/p>\n

The rollout for A Wave That Will Never Break<\/em> has up to this point excluded Spotify and Apple Music, as WU LYF removed<\/a> their music from those platforms last summer. There is a version of “The Fool” on Spotify, however: A version that sounds a lot like Homer Simpson. There are worse April Fool’s jokes out there. Listen to both versions of the song below.<\/p>\n
