The song was released in 1960 and remained on the charts for weeks, particularly due to the incredible dexterity of guitarist <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hank_Marvin\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener\">Hank Marvin<\/a>. Captivated by the cinematic imagery of the American West, Lorden penned an instrumental track specifically engineered to evoke the courage an savagery of Lancaster\u2019s character in the film.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Then through a tragic set of circumstances, <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Michael_Viner\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener\">Michael Viner<\/a>, who was the aide to <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Robert_F._Kennedy\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener\">Robert F. Kennedy<\/a>, decided to quit politics and become a musician. His band, the <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Incredible_Bongo_Band\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener\">Incredible Bongo Band<\/a>, rerecorded <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/music.youtube.com\/watch?v=-Udnb6F1A0g\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener\">\u201cApache\u201d<\/a> in 1973.
