The mystery celebrity behind the interstellar costume was over the moon after being named the show’s newest winner during the Fox reality competition series’ April 1 season 14 finale. So, which pop star was behind the mask?<\/p>\n

It was none other than Ashlee Simpson Ross<\/a><\/strong>, whose husband Evan Ross<\/strong> was unmasked as Stingray during his week 10 elimination on March 18<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As for who she beat out for the crown, in fourth place it was Normani<\/strong> behind the Crane costume, Descendents star Kylie Cantrall<\/strong> came in third as Cat Witch and American Idol winner Phillip Phillips<\/strong> landed in second in the Pugcasso disguise.<\/p>\n

Just before learning of her achievement, Ashlee reflected on how far she’s come since her infamous 2004 Saturday Night Live lip-synching scandal<\/a> nearly tanked her career.<\/p>\n

“I’ve been curious about doing The Masked Singer<\/strong> for years, and now that I’m in the finale, I can confidently say it’s more transformative than I ever imagined,” the “Pieces of Me” singer\u2014who is mom to\u00a0Jagger<\/strong>, 10, and\u00a0Ziggy<\/strong>, 5, with Evan and also shares son Bronx<\/strong>, 17, with ex\u00a0Pete Wentz<\/strong>\u2014shared in a video. “It’s not always easy to put yourself out there. When I was young and reckless, I didn’t think twice. I felt like the world was mine\u2014and then one moment changed everything.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
