Nevada County Camera Club\u2019s exhibit \u201cGold Country on Camera \u2013 A Photo Challenge\u201d will be on display at the Courtyard Suites in Grass Valley in April to celebrate Photography Month. This exhibit includes photographs of western Nevada County that were taken during two weeks in February. \u201cThe Gold Country on Camera challenge and exhibit celebrates creativity \u2014 pushing photographers beyond the ordinary \u2014 to experiment with new camera techniques, unusual viewpoints and different lighting conditions and then finishing the works with imaginative post processing and presentation. This year\u2019s fierce winter storms added both challenges and inspiration, with rain and snow transforming the landscape. The resulting exhibit is playful and lively featuring drone imagery, 3-D works, snowy scenes and more,\u201d said Mike Oitzman, President of the Nevada County Camera Club.<\/p>\n

Photographs for this exhibit will be displayed at the Courtyard Suites, 210 North Auburn Street in Grass Valley during their open hours from 6 a.m. \u2013 10 p.m. from April 4 through April 30. The opening reception will be on Saturday, April 4 from 6:30 \u2013 8:00 p.m. The public is invited. \u201cIt is definitely our pleasure to host the Nevada County Camera Club during Photography Month again at the Courtyard Suites. Supporting local artists is one of our goals and helps expand our guests\u2019 experiences \u2014 giving them a chance to take home a piece of art from the local talented camera club! Please join us as we celebrate Gold Country on Camera at our opening reception,\u201d said Kyra Gates from the Grass Valley Courtyard Suites.<\/p>\n

Photography Month, initiated by Viewpoint Photographic Art Center, is being celebrated in northern California in April to recognize the importance of photography by sharing a moment of beauty, a visual story, or a snapshot in time and history.<\/p>\n
