They\u2019re still the idols we love and celebrate, but this time around, they\u2019re their truest selves, and it\u2019s glorious.<\/p>\n

The sound of \u201c2.0\u201d is as rooted as it\u2019s revamped. It\u2019s grounded in the gritty hip-hop roots that defined BTS\u2019s debut, yet it\u2019s polished with a sophisticated, mature production that only a decade of experience can bring. American hitmaker Mike WiLL Made-It has produced the track, bringing a booming 808 sound to the mix that\u2019s punchy, groovy, and infectious.<\/p>\n

The lyrics define the BTS 2.0 era perfectly, and the message is clear when they sing, \u201cLight the fire, brand new, light it, brand new \/ Yeah, we on that brand new, you know how we do.\u201d <\/em>You can feel their energy and also understand that BTS are \u201cspecced out\u201d and \u201cstepped in,\u201d highlighting that while they\u2019ve reached the top, they\u2019re still \u201cback to the grind.\u201d The soul of the track, \u201cNow throw away the unusable junk,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0is like a\u00a0breath of fresh air\u00a0for\u00a0them. They\u2019ve gotten rid of the distractions so they can focus on what matters the most: the music and the message.<\/p>\n

And if the message is the heartbeat, the music video is the\u00a0stunning cinematic world\u00a0\u201c2.0\u201d inhabits. Much like a movie moment \u2014 a tribute to legendary filmmaker Park Chan-wook<\/a>\u2019s classic thriller\u00a0Oldboy<\/a> <\/em>(2003) \u2014<\/em> the video exudes this \u201cboss\u201d energy dominating the frames. <\/p>\n
