For those unversed, the 45-year-old singer has accused Kardashian and her mother, Kris Jenner, of orchestrating the sex tape scandal. Both the mother-daughter duo denied the accusation and instead sued Ray J, aka William Ray Norwood Jr., over racketeering claims in October 2025.<\/p>\n Ray J received some good news in the Kim Kardashian sex tape settlement drama. Kardashian is facing a new setback in her almost two-decade-long legal battle with her ex. A California Superior Court judge has denied the reality TV star\u2019s request to\u00a0seal a $6 million\u00a0\u201cconfidential settlement agreement\u201d with Norwood related to their 2007 sex tape.<\/p>\n In 2023, Kardashian, her momager Kris Jenner, Ray J, and his mother\u00a0Sonja Norwood\u00a0signed an agreement. According to the agreement, neither party must \u201cdisparage or impugn the character, reputation, integrity, honesty, business or business practices.\u201d<\/p>\n However, on March 30, the court ruled that the Kardashian and her mother \u201chave not met their burden\u201d to keep the settlement details private. As per\u00a0Entertainment Weekly<\/a>, the ruling by Steven A. Ellis stated, \u201cPlaintiffs have presented no admissible evidence that disclosure of the settlement agreement and its terms would cause them any harm.\u201d<\/p>\n Furthermore, the \u201carguments by counsel\u201d stated that the settlement\u2019s disclosure would not \u201ccause substantial harm\u201d to Kardashian\u2019s \u201cprivacy interests\u201d and \u201cprivate business affairs.\u201d The court deemed these to be \u201ctoo vague, speculative, amorphous, and unsupported.\u201d However, it was also ruled that the SKIMS founder\u2019s bank account details will not be made public.
