The Music is Black Festival<\/a> has been announced for 2026. <\/p>\n

Taking place at East Bank at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the festival \u201cencompasses an eight-month season of events celebrating Black British music<\/em>,\u201d with \u201cfour co-curated summer weekends of live music and performance across the park between June and September<\/em>,\u201d says the festival.<\/p>\n

The festival will bring together institutions of London\u2019s East Bank alongside partners and programming led by V&A East, BBC Music Studios, UAL\u2019s London College of Fashion, Sadler\u2019s Wells East, and UCL. <\/p>\n

The festival was inspired by the V&A East Museum\u2019s inaugural exhibition \u2018The Music is Black: A British Story\u2019, which celebrated 125 years of Black music-making in the UK. The Music is Black Festival will expand this programming through music, exhibitions, talks, screenings, dance, digital content. <\/p>\n

13\u201314 June, 11\u201312 July, 22\u201323 August and 12\u201313 September will play host to free-to-attend weekends of live performances at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, and will be \u201ca leading figure in music and culture<\/em>\u201d that will showcase \u201cboth internationally renowned artists and the most exciting talent emerging in and around east London<\/em>,\u201d says the festival.<\/p>\n

Tamsin Ace, director of East Bank, said: \u201cWe invite everyone to celebrate East Bank\u2019s first festival, and to share this extraordinary cultural playground. Tapping into the talent and vision of the existing\u00a0 east London creative community, we\u2019ve been building a remarkable multi-institutional cultural ecosystem here over the last few years, and I personally can\u2019t wait to share it<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n
