TG4 has announced Cara sa Cheol (A Friend in Music), a new six-part music documentary series celebrating creative collaboration between Irish-language artists and musicians from Ireland\u2019s New Irish and immigrant communities.<\/p>\n

Set in a rapidly evolving Ireland, Cara sa Cheol pairs artists from different cultural backgrounds to create bold new musical collaborations.<\/p>\n

Each episode follows a creative exchange as two artists step into one another\u2019s communities \u2013 sharing stories, influences, and lived experience rooted in Irish, African, Middle Eastern, and Eastern European traditions.<\/p>\n

The series follows Nigerian-Irish soul singer Tosh\u00edn Bankole<\/a>, traditional and folk singer C\u00e1it N\u00ed Riain<\/a>, multi-instrumentalist Seamas Hyland<\/a>, Iranian composer Shahab Coohe<\/a>, singer Catr\u00edona N\u00ed Ghrib\u00edn<\/a>, Palestinian oud player Sarraj Alsersawi<\/a>, classical and traditional violinist Aoife N\u00ed Bhriain<\/a>, Ukrainian-born composer Olesya Zdorovetska<\/a>, and Irish Zimbabwean rapper GodKnows<\/a> alongside multi-instrumentalist Caoimh\u00edn<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Each episode culminates in a live concert performed before a local audience in meaningful community spaces.<\/p>\n

Episode 1 will see Zimbabwean-Irish rapper GodKnows, founding member of Rusangano Family<\/a>, collaborate with Dublin-based multi-instrumentalist and producer Caoimh\u00edn Mac Uaid, while Episode 3 pairs traditional singer and folklorist C\u00e1it N\u00ed Riain with Nigerian-Irish soul artist Tosh\u00edn Bankole, combining Irish sean-n\u00f3s traditions with contemporary soul and R&B influences.<\/p>\n
