Alyssa Farah Griffin<\/a> is coming back to\u00a0The View<\/a> \u2026\u00a0<\/em>and sooner than you might\u2019ve expected.<\/p>\n

The cohost has been on maternity leave since the middle of February after giving birth to her first child, a boy, with husband Justin Griffin.<\/p>\n

At the end of Thursday\u2019s (April 2) show, moderator Whoopi Goldberg<\/a> announced the show\u2019s plans to bring her back from leave, saying, \u201cWe are thrilled to let you know that Alyssa will be returning to the table when we come back live after the holidays.\u201d The show\u2019s social media feeds then confirmed her official return date will be on Monday, April 13.<\/p>\n

Fans reacted with joy about the news of her impending return in the comments, with one person writing, \u201cGlad she\u2019s back cause some of these fill ins were yikes.\u201d Wrote another, \u201cGirl finally, I\u2019ve skipped the show for weeks.\u201d Others, however, noted that she hadn\u2019t taken that much time off for her maternity leave, with one fan writing, \u201c6 weeks off? Girl take your time!!\u201d<\/p>\n

In the weeks of Griffin\u2019s absence, several guest cohosts have stepped up to take her place at the table, including Savannah Chrisley<\/a>,\u00a0Amanda Carpenter<\/a>,\u00a0Sara Eisen<\/a>,\u00a0Elisabeth Hasselbeck<\/a>,\u00a0Sheryl Underwood<\/a>, Abby Huntsman<\/a>, and, currently, Whitney Cummings<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Griffin, who had long been candid about her fertility journey on air, gave birth<\/a> to her son, Justin Patrick Griffin Jr., on February 10. Her cohosts, who also threw her (and the live audience full of pregnant women) a baby shower<\/a> on air, announced<\/a> when she had gone into labor live.<\/p>\n

Recently, Sara Haines<\/a>, who is also a mother, paid a visit to the Griffin brood and shared a joyful shot<\/a> of them together.<\/p>\n

Griffin, a registered Republican who served in Donald Trump<\/a>\u2018s first administration before announcing her decision not to support him in the 2024 race, joined\u00a0The View<\/em> in 2022 and has been a full-time cohost ever since.
