Frank Turner<\/a> has revealed that he won\u2019t be releasing a new album anytime soon, as he needs \u201csome space\u201d from writing new music.<\/p>\n

The 44-year-old told Contact Music<\/a><\/em> that he is still happy to live in the shadow of his last, and tenth, solo album, Undefeated<\/em>, which he believes is \u201cone of the best records I\u2019ve ever made\u201d.<\/p>\n

Because of the record, Turner has finally been freed from the cycle of \u201ctouring, recording, releasing\u201d. As such, he is enjoying slowing things down.<\/p>\n

Turner welcomes the break from writing music, sharing, \u201cI already have enough fucking trouble writing a set list as it is! I can give it some space.\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u2018Be More Kind\u2019 singer wants to ensure he hones his art in a healthy way that encourages natural creativity: \u201cWriting because I want to write, rather than writing because I have to write\u2026 Finding that place where the writing is coming from a more kind of natural, honest place.\u201d<\/p>\n

In an exclusive interview<\/a> with Far Out <\/em>last November, Turner echoed much of this sentiment, sharing, \u201cI don\u2019t want to just churn out another record because I\u2019m the sort of person that releases records.\u201d<\/p>\n

In an effort to shake off the claws of the industry, Turner has newly turned to poetry, sharing, \u201cThe act of writing without music in mind\u2026 it\u2019s so liberating to write words without having to think about the chord changes underneath them.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a review of Undefeated, Far Out<\/em> wrote<\/a>, \u201cAs the album is so extensive, Turner enthusiastically crosses many different sonic realms, delving back into his long history to bring a work to life that ranks among his most affecting at points, filled with as much candour as his wry humour.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite the stoppage for any new music, Turner has a busy few months ahead, as he will hit the road with Bowling For Soup in May, June, and July for a co-headline tour across the UK and Australia.<\/p>\n
