Influencer Abby Howard<\/a> <\/b>doesn\u2019t understand the stigma around couples having sex for the first time on their wedding night.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like there is so much messaging that is so negative toward waiting \u2018till the night, like, \u2018It\u2019s going to be so awkward, it\u2019s going to be so embarrassing and terrible and not going to work,\u2019\u201d Howard, 27, said on the Friday, April 3, episode of her \u201cAlways Here\u201d podcast<\/span><\/a>. \u201cI just think that\u2019s not true, at least in our experience.\u201d<\/p>\n

Abby married her husband, Matt Howard<\/b>, in 2019 when they were 20 and 21, respectively. The couple waited to consummate their relationship<\/a> until their wedding night.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf anything, it was very, very wholesome and sweet and beautiful,\u201d Abby recalled to her podcast cohost and sister-in-law Abigail Howard. <\/b>\u201cI think, at this point, there\u2019s certainly excitement about something new, but it\u2019s not like you\u2019re going to be necessarily nervous \u2018cause you are with your person.\u201d<\/p>\n

The couple met in 2013 when they were in a local production of Mary Poppins in St. Louis. While Matt was based in the city, Abby grew up in a small town nearly two hours away. She continued, \u201cThere\u2019s so much comfort toward that than a random one-off. There\u2019s just so much history [and] so much relationship, you know they\u2019re not looking for anything other than to connect with you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Abby further claimed that her first time with Matt, now 27, was \u201cnever once awkward.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe did wait until the day of the wedding and it was beautifully intimate, special [and] wholesome,\u201d she said. \u201cWe certainly laughed and we\u2019re experiencing new things together, but you don\u2019t have to have this expectation. I\u2019m not saying that it\u2019s going to be the most romantic, crazy night of your life \u2014 but in a way it will \u2014 [but it] doesn\u2019t look like the movies because it\u2019s so intimate and special.\u201d<\/p>\n
