Having told The Guardian<\/a> in an interview that \u201cno one\u2019s looking at the charts, but industry people and maybe Taylor Swift fans,\u201d Zara Larsson was swift to clarify the meaning behind her statements that were perceived by many as rather harsh criticism of charts.<\/p>\n \u201cI did an interview in The Guardian saying no one cares about the charts but industry people and maybe Taylor Swift fans, because no one plays the chart game like Taylor Swift. She\u2019s literally the best at it, and everyone knows that. It\u2019s not the read you guys think it is.\u201d<\/p>\n Larsson then directed her comments inwardly, confessing her own interest in achieving better results in the charts.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd also\u2026 I care!!! I still want number one!\u201d<\/p>\n Explaining her current situation in pop culture, Larsson says that despite gaining visibility and cultural relevance, she doesn\u2019t have enough impact on the charts.<\/p>\n \u201cI feel like I have some cultural value right now in pop music, something I\u2019ve never had to this level, but I\u2019m not in a position to influence the charts,\u201d Larsson told Billboard.<\/p>\n The pop superstar also shared her plans for upcoming projects following the release of Midnight Sun and revealed that she wants to release two physical versions of her album covers, as she considers the practice useful for boosting her albums\u2019 popularity on charts and among fans alike.<\/p>\n \u201cI still think you can be an amazing artist and not chart,\u201d Larsson explained, emphasizing that the two aspects should not be viewed as inseparable elements of success in the pop world. \u201cThose two things are not mutually equal to me, and shouldn\u2019t be to any fans either.\u201d<\/p>\n Closing her thoughts with a call to her fanbase, Zara Larsson said:<\/p>\n \u201cPlease make Midnight Sun No. 1!!!
