EXCLUSIVE<\/strong>: There will be no second season of\u00a0The Runarounds<\/a><\/em> as Prime Video has opted not to renew the YA series.<\/p>\n The development is not surprising as it\u2019s been seven months since the eight-episode first season of the music drama was released on Sept. 1. According to sources, the show was quietly canceled a couple of months ago. Its female lead, Lilah Pate, recently booked a series regular role on another show<\/a>, Taylor Sheridan\u2019s Tulsa King<\/em> spinoff Frisco King<\/em> for Paramount+.<\/p>\n More from Deadline<\/strong><\/p>\n While The Runarounds<\/em> the series is ending, the eponymous rock band that was at the center of it will carry on for the foreseeable future. The group, comprised by series stars and real-life musicians William Lipton, Axel Ellis, Jeremy Yun, Zend\u00e9 Murdock, and Jesse Golliher, is on tour through the end of June.<\/p>\n Created by Jonas Pate, co-creator of series Outer Banks<\/em>, and executive produced by all three Outer Banks<\/em> co-creators, Jonas Pate, Josh Pate and Shannon Burke, The Runarounds<\/em> was inspired by the real band of the same name formed in 2021 to appear on the hit Netflix action-adventure YA series.<\/p>\n The Runarounds<\/em> was part of Prime Video\u2019s major YA expansion following the blockbuster success of The Summer I Turned Pretty <\/em>that has included hit series Maxton Hall <\/em>and We Were Liars<\/em>, the popular Culpables<\/em> movie franchise as well as another 2025 show that did not get a second season, Motorheads. <\/em><\/p>\n RELATED:\u00a0<\/strong>Dates\u00a0For Season-Finale\u00a0Episodes Of Series On ABC, CBS, NBC & Fox<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n Like Motorheads, The Runarounds<\/em> was not able to break through.
