Succession<\/em> star Brian Cox<\/strong><\/a> shared his unfiltered thoughts on Margot Robbie<\/strong><\/a> and several other celebrities in a scathing new interview.<\/p>\n

\u201cMargot Robbie is far too beautiful for that role in [Wuthering Heights<\/em>],\u201d Cox, 79, told The Times<\/em><\/a> in an interview published on Friday, April 3. \u201cI mean, I think there should be something more of the Gypsy about her, but it\u2019s wrong of me to judge. It may be a brilliant film.\u201d<\/p>\n

Robbie, 35, stars opposite Jacob Elordi<\/strong> as Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff, respectively, in the adaptation of Emily Bront\u00eb<\/strong>\u2019s famous novel. Both the Barbie<\/em> actress, who was also a producer on the film, and Elordi, 28, previously received backlash for their casting<\/a>, as fans argued that they did not match the physical descriptions of their characters. (Both Catherine and Heathcliff are meant to be teenagers in the novel.)<\/p>\n

Cox also mocked Robbie\u2019s Australian accent while discussing the role, quipping, \u201c\u200a\u2018Keith Cliff! It\u2019s me, Cathy!\u2019 \u2018How ya doing, Keith? Awright?\u2019 \u2018Yeah, I\u2019m awright!\u2019\u200a\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tJeremy Strong is subtly weighing in on his former Succession costars poking fun at his method acting. The actor, 46, elaborated on his process while discussing his role as Roy Cohn in The Apprentice film, telling Deadline on Tuesday, January 7, \u201cWhen I look at the kind of transformational work based on historical characters that [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Elsewhere in the interview, Cox took aim at Quentin Tarantino<\/strong>, President Donald Trump<\/strong> and Kevin Spacey<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201c[When directing] I like to honor the actor\u2019s performance. With a Quentin Tarantino film, what you see is all Quentin Tarantino. That\u2019s not me. I don\u2019t want to do that,\u201d Cox said of the famous director, 63, calling Tarantino \u201cmeretricious\u201d \u2014 defined as \u201capparently attractive but having in reality no value or integrity.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cox called Spacey, 66 \u2014 his costar in the 1994 film Iron Will<\/em> \u2014 a \u201cstupid, stupid man.\u201d Of Trump, 79, the Manhunter<\/em> actor added, \u201cTrump doesn\u2019t give a s*** about the people. He\u2019s only interested in the oil [in Iran]. There\u2019s just sheer f***g greed motivating him, nothing else. The idea he\u2019s liberating people is nonsense.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Times article also included previous quotes on Johnny Depp<\/strong> and Edward Norton<\/strong>, which Cox\u2019s reps clarified were from his 2022 autobiography, Putting the Rabbit in the Hat<\/em>, according to The Hollywood Reporter<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

In the book, Cox said he turned down a role in Pirates of the Caribbean because he didn\u2019t want to work with Depp, 62, calling the actor \u201cso overblown, so overrated.\u201d (He later admitted that he \u201cregretted\u201d making the comment about Depp and \u201cwas just being harsh.\u201d)<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, he called Norton, 56, \u201ca pain in the arse.\u201d (Cox and Norton costarred in the 2002 drama 25th Hour<\/em>, directed by Spike Lee<\/strong>.)<\/p>\n

Cox has made headlines for years with his candid assessments of fellow Hollywood stars. Back in 2024, he slammed Joaquin Phoenix<\/strong>\u2019s performance in Napoleon<\/em><\/a>, calling it \u201ctruly terrible.\u201d He has also frequently spoken out against \u201cf***ing annoying\u201d method acting, particularly when done by Succession<\/em> costar Jeremy Strong<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n
