And Kirk and Todd are creative forces; if you need a riff right now, Kirk will go in the corner and boom, a riff comes out.\u201d<\/p>\nKenny also has a new Silvertomb album coming later this year \u2013 which he promises will be \u201creally dreary\u201d \u2013 adding to the impressive discography he\u2019s built since the dissolution of Type Of Negative in 2010.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think I was preparing myself to have to do something different, because both Peter and I, we didn\u2019t know when we were gonna be dead,\u201d says Kenny. \u201cJosh [Silver, keyboardist] certainly was \u2013 he got his whole degree and became an EMT. You always had the sense in Type O that this was gonna be over any minute.\u201d<\/p>\n
As fatalistic as that may seem, it\u2019s an approach that ended up giving Kenny an unlikely sense of optimism.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve come to terms with the fact that there\u2019s not really a choice for me. I\u2019ve realised now it\u2019s not about those two or three hit songs that are your most well-known to the general public, it\u2019s about a body of work,\u201d Kenny explains.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhatever the people wanna do with it is not in your control, but it\u2019s your job to build the best, most comprehensive body of work you possibly can. That\u2019s my goal and that\u2019s what I\u2019m gonna do.\u201d<\/p>\n
