Cardi B<\/a> is set to judge New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani\u2019s Best Childcare Jingle contest.<\/p>\n The songs will be written to promote Mamdani\u2019s free childcare initiative for the city\u2019s two-year-olds, which the administration is calling 2-K, similar to pre-K and 3-K for three-year-olds.<\/p>\n New Yorkers can submit a 15 or 30-second jingle to the NYC government website (here<\/a>), which they must also post to social media with the tags #NYC2KJingle and @nycmayor.<\/p>\n The final date to submit a jingle is April 17, after which Cardi B will select five finalists, before New Yorkers pick the winner. \u201cAs Cardi B says: \u2018I can get \u2019em both. I don\u2019t wanna choose,\u2019\u201d Mamdani said in a statement.<\/p>\n \u201cWith universal childcare, New Yorkers won\u2019t have to. For too long, families have been forced to choose between affordable care and staying in the city they love. Now, they can have both \u2014 free care in the greatest city in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n In a video promoting the contest, Mamdani asks Cardi B what she thinks of free childcare. \u201cI feel like free childcare is very important,\u201d she says. \u201cSometimes, us women, we can\u2019t really go forward because we don\u2019t have nobody to help us take care of our kids.\u201d<\/p>\n Mamdani was elected on November 4, and inaugurated on New Year\u2019s Day with\u00a0a performance of \u2018Bread And Roses\u2019 from Lucy Dacus.<\/a><\/p>\n Since then,\u00a0Kim Petras has offered to send Zohran Mamdani her new album if he does one thing for New York City<\/a>, and\u00a0Michael Rapaport has declared that he will be running for mayor of New York City in 2029, in an attempt to oust the newly elected Mamdani<\/a>.<\/p>\n Just days before the election at the end of 2025, Mamdani made headlines after\u00a0he was spotted in the crowd at a PinkPantheress gig.<\/a>\u00a0The gig took place as the producer kicked off her \u2018An Evening With PinkPantheress\u2019 North American tour with a show at the Kings Theatre in Brooklyn.<\/p>\n Last month, Mamdani revealed his top five favourite rappers of all time<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n
