While it was initially communicated that the closure would happen sometime in early January, as of yesterday, it\u2019s official: January 4 will be the <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.miaminewtimes.com\/arts-culture\/miami-artists-mourn-loss-of-gramps-as-space-plans-to-close-23941708\/\">final day<\/a>. But don\u2019t panic \u2014 there are still plenty of chances to catch one last band, laugh through a comedy set, or sip a Penicillin at the bar.<\/p>\n<p>In a previous interview with <em>New Times<\/em>, owner Adam Gersten confirmed that <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/grampsgetaway.co\/\">Gramps Getaway<\/a>, the sister location on the Rickenbacker Causeway, will absorb some of the Wynwood venue\u2019s signature programming. \u201cWe\u2019ve improved our stage at Gramps Getaway,\u201d he told us. \u201cAround December, we\u2019ll start booking more bands.\u201d That programming, he added, will keep the original spirit alive: \u201cMore DJs, funk, esoteric stuff outdoors, industrial and New Wave in the indoor room.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGramps started simple, and it evolved into many things,\u201d Gersten reflected. \u201cGramps Getaway is really Gramps in its final form.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But instead of focusing on the future, let\u2019s stay grounded in the now. There are still 17 days left to enjoy a concert, catch a comedy show, or have fun at a drag night.
