Cagle, known for high-energy performances and chart-topping hits, rose to prominence in the early 2000s with songs such as \u201cI Breathe In, I Breathe Out,\u201d \u201cLaredo,\u201d \u201cWhat a Beautiful Day\u201d and \u201cChicks Dig It.\u201d<\/p>\n
Born in De Ridder, Louisiana, and raised in Houston, Cagle moved to Nashville in 1994 to pursue a career in country music. While working a variety of jobs \u2013 including nanny, waiter, prep chef and golf caddy \u2013 he secured a publishing deal with Caliber Music. Within eight months, country artist David Kersh recorded Cagle\u2019s song \u201cI Breathe In, I Breathe Out,\u201d marking an early milestone in his songwriting career.<\/p>\n
Determined to perform his own music, Cagle signed with Virgin Records in 2000. He co-wrote and co-produced his debut album, \u201cPlay It Loud,\u201d which earned gold certification and produced several hits, including the Top 10 single \u201cMy Love Goes On & On,\u201d the Top 5 hit \u201cLaredo\u201d and the No. 1 single \u201cI Breathe In, I Breathe Out.\u201d<\/p>\n
His self-titled follow-up album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and was certified gold. The project delivered two additional Top 5 singles: \u201cWhat a Beautiful Day\u201d and \u201cChicks Dig It.\u201d<\/p>\n
Cagle continued to build his catalog with popular tracks, including \u201cMiss Me Baby,\u201d \u201cWhat Kinda Gone,\u201d \u201cGot My Country On,\u201d \u201cLet There Be Cowgirls\u201d and \u201cCountry by the Grace of God.\u201d<\/p>\n
In 2002, he was nominated for New Male Vocalist of the Year by the Academy of Country Music and was voted CMT\u2019s Breakthrough Artist of the Year.
