Now here is an idea we can get on board with. Plans are afoot to bring a new cafe and wine bar to a prominent downtown Leesburg corner \u2013 with a special nod to music enthusiasts.<\/p>\n
The Record Press<\/a><\/strong><\/span> is coming to 29 South King Street<\/a><\/strong><\/span>. That\u2019s right at the main corner of South King and Loudoun Street.<\/p>\n The Record Press is being touted as both a cafe and a music listening room specializing in coffee, wine, and vinyl. Vinyl, of course, meaning music played on actual records versus more modern digital technologies.<\/p>\n According to the cafe\u2019s team, the space will be a cafe during the day, and a vinyl listening room by night.<\/p>\n \u201cWe might play anything from Frank Sinatra to Led Zepplin to Rosal\u00eda \u2026 and even Michael Jackson,\u201d<\/strong> one of the owners told The Burn. \u201cThe biggest thing about this is to slow down and listen to music the way the artist wanted you to hear to it.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n The Record Press will be equipped with a Hi-Fi sound system and have a large collection of fine record pressings. Albums will be played front and back in their entirety and the schedule of albums will be released in advance.<\/p>\n The music sessions will be ticketed \u2013 meaning you purchase tickets for specific album or albums you want to hear and this gets you a seat in the listening room.<\/p>\n The concept is based on Japanese \u201ckissa,\u201d a type of music cafe that became popular after World War II.<\/p>\n Kissa are spaces where the focus is on really listening to music versus just having it on in the background.
