Adrian Grenier, who portrays Nate in The Devil Wears Prada<\/em>, is opening up about his “disappointment” over not being asked to return for the highly-anticipated sequel film, The Devil Wears Prada 2. <\/em>As to why he was not invited back for the follow up film, the 49-year-old actor believes it had something to do with the widespread \u201cbacklash\u201d of his role from fans.<\/p>\n In an interview with Page Six<\/em><\/a> on March 13, the Entourage<\/em> star talked about not being asked to revive his role as Andy Sachs\u2019 boyfriend. \u201cWe\u2019re all fans of the movie, whether or not we\u2019re in it,\u201d he began. \u201cObviously, it was a disappointment that I didn\u2019t get the call to be in the sequel, but I also understand there\u2019s some backlash with Nate, the character, so that might have something to do with it.\u201d<\/p>\n COMPLEX SHOP:<\/b> Shop the brands you love, anytime and anywhere. Obsess.<\/a><\/p>\n When the interviewer asked him to clarify, questioning whether Grenier really believed his absence from the sequel film was just a result of his character\u2019s backlash, he responded, \u201cAs opposed to what?\u201d<\/p>\n Following the interview, many fans took to Reddit to discuss Grenier\u2019s theories on why Nate won\u2019t be featured in the second movie.
