Muse<\/a> kicked off their new era by debuting new songs from upcoming album \u2018The Wow! Signal<\/a>\u2018 and airing fan favourites at their return to London\u2019s O2 Academy Brixton last night (Friday April 3). Check out photos, footage, the setlist and more below.<\/p>\n Fans had been queuing from the day before to get to the front row for the Devonshire space rock trio\u2019s first performance at the iconic venue since May 2001. An intimate show for the stadium band, demand was high with tickets selling out almost immediately after they announced the gig<\/a> after details of their 10th album \u2018The Wow! Signal\u2019 and shared new single \u2018Be With You<\/a>\u2018.<\/p>\n After keeping fans in anticipation until 9.20pm, the band arrived on stage after the PA played Chvrches<\/a>\u2018 \u2018Clearest Blue\u2019 and Muse simmered into \u2018Interlude\u2019 before an explosive opening of the bass-driven \u2018Hysteria\u2019 from 2003\u2019s \u2018Absolution<\/a>\u2018. They then burst into the Depeche Mode<\/a>-indebted \u2018Black Holes & Revelations<\/a>\u2018 highlight \u2018Map Of The Problematique\u2019 before frontman Matt Bellamy<\/a> asked the crowd, \u201cDo you fancy a new song?\u201d before introducing \u2018Cryogen\u2019 \u2013 a blast of classic Muse harking back to their \u201900s days with wailing riff, arena-destroying chorus and painting an apocalyptic sci-fi landscape.<\/p>\n
