The controversy surrounding Prince Andrew and his ties to Jeffrey Epstein has created a fresh challenge for the British monarchy, particularly regarding the position of his daughters, Princess Beatrice, 37, and Princess Eugenie, 36.<\/p>\n
Their future role has drawn significant attention in recent weeks as scrutiny over their father intensifies.<\/p>\n
Andrew, now known as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, was arrested in mid-February following new revelations about his links to Epstein. He was questioned on suspicion of misconduct in public office related to his time as a UK trade envoy.<\/p>\n
He has denied wrongdoing and has not been charged but remains under police caution.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe can now also confirm that we are providing early investigative advice to Thames Valley Police in relation to Mountbatten-Windsor,” prosecutors said.<\/p>\n
King Charles III stripped him of his royal titles in October as the scandal grew. Epstein, a convicted US sex offender, died in prison in 2019.<\/p>\n
Although Beatrice and Eugenie are not working members of the royal family, Buckingham Palace has confirmed they continue to hold their princess titles.<\/p>\n
They have long been close to Prince William and Prince Harry and have remained part of the extended royal circle.<\/p>\n
The sisters attended the royal family\u2019s Christmas service at Sandringham in December, though their parents were not invited. However, they will not attend the Easter gathering at Windsor this weekend, having made alternative plans.<\/p>\n
Royal commentators have suggested the sisters\u2019 association with their father could affect their standing.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey want to avoid any association with them, as the York brand has become toxic,\u201d said royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams.<\/p>\n
Emails released in January indicated Andrew remained in contact with Epstein after his conviction and shared sensitive UK trade information. The correspondence also included references to Ferguson and her daughters, though there is no suggestion of wrongdoing by the princesses.<\/p>\n
Documents showed Epstein mentioning visits from \u201cFerg and the two girls\u201d shortly after his release from prison in 2009.<\/p>\n
In light of these details, royal expert Ed Owens said: \u201cIf it is shown that they have benefited from an elite network that was partially introduced to them by Jeffrey Epstein… this is problematic.\u201d<\/p>\n
Biographer Andrew Lownie argued the sisters were \u201cdeeply implicated\u201d rather than \u201ccollateral damage\u201d, citing past incidents involving their family\u2019s connections.<\/p>\n
Both princesses have built professional careers outside royal duties. Beatrice previously worked as vice president of strategic partnerships at Afiniti before launching her own advisory group, while Eugenie serves as a director at the Hauser & Wirth gallery in London.<\/p>\n
Eugenie also stepped down last month as a patron of Anti-Slavery International.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe don\u2019t know what might come up next. There might be new scandals,\u201d Fitzwilliams said.<\/p>\n
Lownie added: \u201cThere are scandals still in their cupboard\u201d waiting to be exposed.<\/p>\n
