Blake Lively<\/a> released a lengthy statement on Friday following the dismissal<\/a> of 10 of her 13 claims in a lawsuit<\/a> against\u00a0Justin Baldoni<\/a>\u00a0involving the film\u00a0It Ends With Us<\/a>\u00a0just six weeks before a trial in Manhattan federal court<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In a social media post, Lively said she was \u201cgrateful\u201d for the court\u2019s ruling, which \u201callows the heart of my case to be presented to a jury next month, and for the ability to finally tell my story in full at trial.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe last thing I wanted in my life was a lawsuit, but I brought this case because of the pervasive RETALIATION I faced, and continue to, for privately and professionally asking for a safe working environment for myself and others,\u201d she said. \u201cI hope the Court\u2019s decision shows others that, as unfathomably painful as it is, you can speak up.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actress urged others to not be distracted by the framing of the lawsuit as \u201ccelebrity drama,\u201d which she said is designed \u201cto keep you from seeing yourselves in my story.\u201d<\/p>\n

In\u00a0her lawsuit<\/a>\u00a0first filed on Dec. 31, 2024, Lively claimed Baldoni, the movie\u2019s production company Wayfarer Studios, and the other defendants subjected her to \u201cdisturbing\u201d sexual harassment during the film\u2019s production, then engaged in a \u201csophisticated, coordinated, and well-financed\u201d online smear campaign against her after she spoke up. Lively accused the defendants of attempting to \u201csilence\u201d and \u201ceviscerate\u201d her before she had a chance to go public with her allegations.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe physical pain from digital violence is very real,\u201d she wrote in her statement posted on Friday. \u201cIt is abuse. And it\u2019s everywhere. Not just in the news, but in your communities and schools. If you\u2019re looking, my claims won\u2019t be the first or last time you\u2019ll see examples of the extreme dangers of retaliation and digital warfare. And it often won\u2019t be directed at celebrities or those who may [be] able to speak up. It affects us all.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSo much critical work has already been done to expose systems, tactics and players who harm. The work to create more safety is in part at trial, but it will also continue far after this trial is over,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n
