Donald Glover<\/a> said that his role as Yoshi<\/a> in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie<\/em> got him some cool points with his children, but he has some work to do before they think he\u2019s as cool as Tyler, the Creator<\/a>.<\/p>\n When Glover and the rest of the cast, including Chris Pratt, were asked by Entertainment Tonight if their performances garnered them \u201ccool points\u201d at home, the actor and musician responded, \u201cOh yeah, big time.\u201d Pratt conceded that his children are too young to understand what acting is, and Glover added that his children are \u201calways asking\u201d when someone famous comes up to him if they\u2019re his friend.<\/p>\n \u201cHow do they know you? Like, is that your friend? And I’m just always like, no, they’re not, they just kind of like what I do,\u201d he laughed. \u201cYou’re cool, but you’re not Tyler, the Creator. In a recent interview with ExtraTV<\/em>, his co-star Jack Black<\/a>, who portrays Bowser in the movie, said that Glover \u201ccampaigned for the role\u201d of Yoshi. \u201cHe told his agent, \u2018Call [Illumination CEO] Chris Meledandri. Tell him I really want to be Yoshi, I\u2019d love to be in the new Super Mario Bros,\u2019\u201d Black explained<\/a>. \u201cBecause he loves it, and he loves that universe.\u201d<\/p>\n Last year, Glover performed<\/a> at Tyler, the Creator\u2019s Camp Flog Gnaw Festival as Childish Gambino<\/a> and revealed that he was forced to cancel a large number of dates in 2024 after he suffered from a stroke and learned that he had a hole in his heart.<\/p>\n \u201cI went to the hospital, and the doctor was like, ‘You had a stroke.’ And the first thing I thought was like, ‘Oh, here I am still copying Jamie Foxx<\/a>,\u2019\u201d he told the festival crowd. \u201cThey say everyone has two lives, and the second life starts when you realize you have one. You should be living your life how you want.
