Jack Black<\/a>\u2018s Saturday Night Live<\/a><\/em> monologue featured six iconic five-timers and a rock number \u2014 in addition to Marcello Hern\u00e1ndez<\/a>\u2018s Domingo character crashing the set.<\/p>\n On Saturday, April 4, Black hosted SNL<\/em> for the fifth time. And his opening monologue<\/a> enlisted the help of fellow five-timers, Jonah Hill<\/a>, Tina Fey<\/a>, Candice Bergen<\/a>, Melissa McCarthy<\/a>, and Jack White<\/a>.<\/p>\n Black began by exclaiming, \u201cIt\u2019s a huge honor to join the five-timer club. I\u2019m a five-timer!\u201d before Hill immediately interrupted by joining him on stage. The School of Rock<\/em><\/a> actor asked Hill what he\u2019s been up to, and replied, \u201cI\u2019ve actually been working on Superbad 2<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWhat? Really?!\u201d Black responded, to which Hill confessed, \u201cNo, I just really like the sound of applause.\u201d<\/p>\n That\u2019s when Hill escorted Black to the five-timers lounge after revealing something was wrong. The two men entered the cobweb-covered room, as Black pointed out that it felt like there was \u201cevil lurking around every corner.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAh, scary goblin!\u201d the Super Mario Galaxy Movie<\/em><\/a> star yelled. \u201cIt\u2019s just me,\u201d Fey said while wearing a fur coat made from Paddington. She also quipped, \u201cYou\u2019re the first Black in the five-timers club.\u201d (The honor actually belongs to Dwayne \u201cThe Rock\u201d Johnson<\/a>.) Bergen then appeared, claiming that she \u201cspent a night with Paddington back in the \u201970s.\u201d<\/p>\n After that, McCarthy showed up behind the bar, asking where she could get a drink. \u201cAll they\u2019ve got are these warm cans of John Mulaney<\/a>\u2018s beer,\u201d she complained, of another five-timer\u2019s non-alcoholic beverages, which she filled with Vodka and then shotgunned.<\/p>\n Suddenly, Hern\u00e1ndez\u2018s Domingo character popped into the lounge (for the fifth time on the show). White, the musical guest for the episode, hit him on the head with a frying pan before he could finish his signature song.<\/p>\n Black then said he was going to fix the five-timers lounge with \u201cthe power of rock.\u201d He added, \u201cI\u2019m gonna fix it by singing the world\u2019s most rockin\u2019 song,\u201d before singing and dancing to The White Stripes<\/a>\u2018 song \u201cSeven Nation Army.\u201d<\/p>\n The opening monologue ended with White playing guitar, Black singing, background dancers performing while dressed as witches, and the other five-timers joining them.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd when I put this jacket on, you know I feel like I am ready to host,\u201d Black sang as the skit ended with a fade-out as the music continued.<\/p>\n
