After Nedoroscik helped the men\u2019s gymnastics team win their first Olympic medal in 16 years, McCracken was by his side to celebrate her boyfriend\u2019s achievement. \u201cThere\u2019s not really a good way to make this video, so I\u2019m just gonna say it, I guess. Stephen and I are no longer together,\u201d McCracken explained. \u201cWe haven\u2019t been since the beginning of January.\u201d<\/p>\n
McCracken and Nedoroscik, 27, started dating in 2016 during their freshman year<\/a> at Penn State. While reflecting on their split, McCracken denied that there was a major reason that led to the shocking separation.<\/p>\n\u201cIt\u2019s been long enough and people have figured it out,\u201d she said. \u201c[My] social media has been cleaned out. I can\u2019t post anything without getting a few comments, and I know there have been multiple Reddit threads. I feel like it\u2019s just easier to have it out in the open and not really have to hide it anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n
She continued: \u201cI wasn\u2019t really trying to hide it in the first place, but it\u2019s weird to have to announce your breakup. There wasn\u2019t any drama, there wasn\u2019t some big, blowup fight where one of us stormed out, there wasn\u2019t any cheating [and] neither of us came out as gay.\u201d<\/p>\n
In the video, McCracken denied rumors she gave<\/a> Nedoroscik \u201can ultimatum\u201d about getting engaged. (Nedoroscik, for his part, has yet to address the split news.)<\/p>\n\u201cAbsolutely none of that. There was no drama,\u201d she explained. \u201cIt was really just time, and that sucks a lot. There\u2019s really no other way to put it. We were together for almost 10 years. We met and got together when we were 17 and 18, and we\u2019re now 27 and 28. As it turns out, there are things that didn\u2019t matter at 18 that matter when you\u2019re in your later 20s.\u201d<\/p>\n
