A Strictly Come Dancing star has revealed details about his upcoming projects, including a collaboration with another beloved star from the iconic show.<\/p>\n

Carlos Gu<\/a> impressed BBC<\/a> fans and the judging panel last year after claiming the Strictly Come Dancing<\/a> trophy alongside former professional footballer Karen Carney<\/a>.<\/p>\n

While several professional dancers such as Gorka Marquez, Karen Hauer and Luba Mushtuk will be absent from the iconic dance competition, the 33-year-old is expected to return following his Glitterball Trophy triumph in 2025.<\/p>\n

In the interim, Gu has confirmed he will be pursuing various other ventures, including a partnership with fellow Strictly performer Amy Dowden<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Their 2026 UK live dance tour titled Reborn promises to be an inspiring production that celebrates the transformative power of dance, marking Amy’s comeback following her cancer treatment.<\/p>\n

In an exclusive conversation with The Mirror<\/a>, Carlos expressed: “Amy [Dowden] has been a tremendous source of inspiration to me.<\/p>\n

“She’s endured so much regarding her health, yet returns even stronger each time.<\/p>\n

“She’s an absolute powerhouse. I aspire to have her resilience.”<\/p>\n

However, this isn’t Carlos’s sole project, as the Chinese National Champion is also preparing for his inaugural solo performance in London, which merges his passion for dancing with vocal performance.<\/p>\n

The 33 year old revealed: “Those closest to me know how passionate I am about singing.<\/p>\n

“You can sing in the shower, but I began taking lessons last year and realised I want to pursue it professionally.<\/p>\n

“So I’m putting together a one-man show, combining singing and dancing.”<\/p>\n

When asked whether performing both singing and dancing evokes a similar feeling, Carlos explained: “The muscles we use are entirely different, and the way you convey emotion through movement and voice are worlds apart.<\/p>\n

“My motivation for taking up singing stemmed from feeling that dance alone was sometimes insufficient to fully express myself.<\/p>\n

“Now I have a broader range of tools at my disposal. Either way, I know I’m going to be a performer until the day I die.”<\/p>\n
