While that project only managed to conjure up minimal commercial impact, it did set the hard rockers up for future success. It wasn\u2019t long before Silver Side Up<\/em> changed everything, turning Nickelback into the hottest new thing and certified hitmakers.<\/p>\n Decades later, the group does not maintain the same position in the music industry that it once did, but there are still countless dedicated fans that are excited for its next chapter. Nickelback recently dropped \u201cBones for the Crows,\u201d a brand new single that kicks off in some impressive positions on the Billboard<\/em> charts. The tune even earns the Canadian rock outfit its first No. 1 on a tally it has never ruled before.<\/p>\n \u201cBones for the Crows\u201d<\/a> opens at No. 1 on the Rock Digital Song Sales chart<\/a>, which details the bestselling rock tracks throughout the U.S. on platforms like iTunes. Nickelback has now scored 29 wins on the tally, 14 of which have hit the top 10 \u2013 but until now, none of them had reached the summit.<\/p>\n \u201cBones for the Crows\u201d beats three Nickelback tunes that stalled in the runner-up space on the Rock Digital Song Sales chart. \u201cRockstar,\u201d \u201cThis Afternoon,\u201d and \u201cThe Devil Went Down to Georgia\u201d with Dave Martone all missed out on ruling by just one slot.<\/p>\n Over on the Alternative Digital Song Sales chart \u2013 which is composed in exactly the same manner as the Rock Digital Song Sales ranking, with one genre swapped in for another\u2026 though there is plenty of crossover \u2013 Nickelback doubles its No. 1s. \u201cBones for the Crows\u201d joins \u201cRockstar,\u201d which opened on the Alternative Digital Song Sales tally in December 2011 but had to wait nearly a dozen years before finally giving the Grammy-nominated act its first leader. \u201cBones for the Crows\u201d also marks a milestone tenth top 10 for the band.<\/p>\n Nickelback has proved far more successful on a third purchase-only ranking. \u201cBones for the Crows\u201d debuts on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales roster, and the group scores its sixth winner. Previously, the troupe has dominated with \u201cRockstar,\u201d<\/a> \u201cWhat Are You Waiting For?,\u201d \u201cBottoms Up,\u201d \u201cEdge of a Revolution,\u201d and \u201cThe Devil Went Down to Georgia\u201d with Dave Martone. 19 of the band\u2019s 25 charting tracks have spent at least one frame inside the top 10.<\/p>\n \u201cBones for the Crows\u201d is clearly a top seller, but when it comes to general consumption, the cut doesn\u2019t manage to rule any roost. Nickelback\u2019s latest performs best on the Hot Hard Rock Songs ranking, which is built with streaming, sales, and radio airplay data. On that tally, \u201cBones for the Crows\u201d misses out on doubling Nickelback\u2019s No. 1 count by just one space, as it enters at No. 2.<\/p>\n Singer Maphra blocks Nickelback from the highest space, as her cover of \u201cDoomed\u201d by Bring Me the Horizon holds at No. 1. Of Nickelback\u2019s half dozen placements on the Hot Hard Rock Songs chart, all but one cut has broken into the uppermost region. Earlier this year, the group joined Don Broco on \u201cNightmare Tripping,\u201d which launched at No. 24 and then immediately slipped away.<\/p>\n \u201cBones for the Crows\u201d performed well enough during its initial tracking period that it also settles onto two much more competitive Billboard<\/em> rosters. Nickelback\u2019s most recent drop starts at No. 20 on the Digital Song Sales chart, thanks to a little less than 2,100 purchases (according to Luminate).
