But after several days of back and forth, Olivia ultimately missed out on the role, <\/span>and <\/span>Elizabeth Banks<\/strong><\/a> ended <\/span>up taking on the part.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI got the job \u2026 and then two days later, they were like, \u2018Alec thinks that you look too young to play his love interest,\u2019\u201d Olivia shared with <\/span>The Hollywood Reporter<\/span><\/em><\/a> in an interview published April 3. \u201cAnother two days later, \u2018No, no, no. They think you\u2019re perfect. You\u2019re going to fly out on Saturday.\u2019 On Friday, \u2018No, no, no. Alec thinks that you look too young and he\u2019s putting his foot down.\u2019\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

E! News has reached out to reps for Alec and NBC for comment but has not heard back.<\/span><\/p>\n

W<\/span>hile Olivia, 45, was disappointed not to have booked the series\u2014especially because looking back \u201cit would have been such a big, big break\u201d for her\u2014she found that she \u201cwas not devastated.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
