If you’ve been following New York theatre recently, you would notice lately that many of Hollywood’s biggest stars have been taking to the stage. Last season saw George Clooney and Denzel Washington lighting up a Broadway\u00a0marquee (with high ticket prices to match). This season promises more of the same.<\/p>\n

From Daniel Radcliffe in\u00a0Every Brilliant Thing<\/a>\u00a0to Megan Thee Stallion in\u00a0Moulin Rouge! The Musical<\/a>, celebrities are all over new shows and long-runners. Below are five shows, spanning plays and musicals, you can see this spring\u00a0with A-listers in them.<\/p>\n

Daniel Radcliffe in\u00a0Every Brilliant Thing<\/h3>\n

Harry Potter\u00a0star and Tony winner Daniel Radcliffe is currently delighting audiences in\u00a0Every Brilliant Thing\u00a0at Broadway’s Hudson Theatre. In the play by\u00a0Duncan Macmillan and\u00a0Jonny Donahoe, Radcliffe plays a man who creates a list of things that make life worth living to cheer up his mother after her suicide attempt. And to help him tell this story, Radcliffe enlists the help of audience members around the theatre. So perhaps that is the most brilliant thing of all: a group of strangers coming together to create live theatre. Radcliffe stars in the play until May 24.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Megan Thee Stallion in\u00a0Moulin Rouge!\u00a0The Musical<\/h3>\n

Yes, you read that right. Grammy-winning rapper, and leader of the “Hotties” club, Megan Thee Stallion will be making her Broadway debut in\u00a0Moulin Rouge!\u00a0The Musical\u00a0March 24\u2013May 17 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. She will play the role of master of ceremonies Zidler, which means yes, you will hear her sing “Chandelier” by Sia. Can you go see Megan Thee Stallion live in a theatre that has an elephant in the corner?\u00a0Yes you can can can!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Maya Rudolph in\u00a0Oh, Mary!<\/a><\/h3>\n

The casting team at\u00a0Oh, Mary!\u00a0has done it again! Six-time Emmy-winning SNL star Maya Rudolph\u00a0will be the next skilled comedian to play Mary Todd Lincoln in the hit comedy\u00a0Oh, Mary!, where she will no doubt chug liquor, throw herself on couches, and sing “She’ll Be Coming Round the Mountain” with aplomb. Rudolph will be on Broadway\u00a0April 28\u2013June 20.<\/p>\n

Side note:\u00a0She will not be\u00a0the only former\u00a0Saturday Night Live\u00a0cast member on Broadway this season:\u00a0Ana Gastayer will be in\u00a0Schmigadoon!<\/a>,\u00a0while\u00a0Rachel Dratch will be in\u00a0The Rocky Horror Show<\/a>. In other words, this spring on Broadway is truly a barrel of laughs!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Ayo Edebiri and Don Cheadle in Proof<\/a><\/h3>\n

And now for something a bit more serious. Golden Globe winner Don Cheadle and\u00a0The Bear\u00a0star\u00a0Ayo Edebiri will co-lead the Broadway revival of\u00a0Proof, playing father and daughter mathematicians with a complicated relationship. This marks\u00a0Cheadle’s return to the stage\u2014he originated one of the lead roles in the seminal Topdog\/Underdog\u00a0Off-Broadway. Meanwhile, Proof\u00a0will allow the comedic Edebiri to truly show off her dramatic muscles.<\/p>\n

Also,\u00a0The Bear\u00a0is all over Broadway this season. Her co-stars from the restaurant television show,\u00a0Jon Bernthal and\u00a0Ebon Moss-Bachrach, are playing bank robbers in\u00a0Dog Day Afternoon<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Jim Parsons in\u00a0Titan\u00edque<\/a><\/h3>\n

Ever since he finished the long-running sitcom\u00a0The Big Bang Theory in 2019, four-time Emmy winner Jim Parsons has been spending a lot of time onstage. He was last seen in back-to-back dramatic plays on Broadway:\u00a0Mother Play\u00a0and\u00a0Our Town. But if you missed seeing Parsons be funny, you’re in luck because Titanique is a hoot. It is a send-up of the film\u00a0Titanic, using the songs of Celine Dion, and Parsons will be in drag playing Ruth\u2014the strict mother of Rose.\u00a0In other words, an uncomplicated good time that ends with a \u201cMy Heart Will Go On\u201d singalong.<\/p>\n
