Walnut St. with two stories of space to host mid-level national touring acts and smaller local and acoustic performances. It aims to both revitalize a prime downtown location that has been <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.greenbaypressgazette.com\/story\/news\/local\/2025\/08\/12\/seventh-attempt-to-revive-historic-downtown-green-bay-buildings-succeeds\/85473172007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">empty for nearly 25 years<\/a> and to fill a void in the city for a 425-person capacity concert space.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is perfect, I think, for a lot of bands to be able to start coming back through Green Bay again that maybe have not been for a few decades, that have been going to Milwaukee or Madison and going around us,\u201d said general manager Tom Johnson.<\/p>\n<p>Revelry\u2019s main concert space will be upstairs with a full stage and high-end sound and lighting. It will also be available to rent for small weddings, private parties and other gatherings. His Tom Johnson Productions has been booking bands at venues in and around Green Bay for 20 years, including the Lyric Room, Green Bay Distillery, Badger State Brewing Co., Crunchy Frog and\u00a0Baba\u00a0Louie\u2019s. He was also selected to assemble the <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.greenbaypressgazette.com\/story\/entertainment\/music\/2025\/04\/02\/less-than-jake-de-la-soul-gza-to-play-free-music-fest-for-nfl-draft\/82642436007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">lineups for the free Draft City Music Fest<\/a> that brought\u00a0De\u00a0La Soul, Less Than Jake, GZA, Riverboat Gamblers and others to\u00a0Leicht\u00a0Memorial Park during last year\u2019s NFL draft.<\/p>\n<partner-inline util-module-path=\"elements\/partner\" class=\"spacer-large\" placement=\"native-article_link\" sizes=\"[[300, 250], [3, 3]]\" min-height=\"250\" fluid=\"\" outstream=\"\"\/>\n<p>For Revelry, Johnson is working with partners JoLinda Gorzelanczyk and Jason\u00a0Burkard, the owners of <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cheesesteak-rebellion.com\/\">Cheesesteak Rebellion<\/a>, David Anderson and Austin\u00a0Esquibel\u00a0as well as several silent partners.<\/p>\n<p><cta-atoms-container-inline util-module-path=\"elements\/cta\" class=\"spacer-large\"\/><\/p>\n<p>They chose the name Revelry, because of its celebratory tone.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s kind of classy enough for a wedding but cool enough for a punk show,\u201d Johnson said.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"presto-h2 wp-block-heading\">Could attract acts who play High Noon Saloon, Majestic Theatre in Madison<\/h2>\n<partner-inline util-module-path=\"elements\/partner\" placement=\"native-article_link\" sizes=\"[[300, 250], [3, 3]]\" min-height=\"250\" fluid=\"\" outstream=\"\"\/>\n<p>He had been thinking for some time that downtown Green Bay was in need of a music venue, particularly after the Lyric Room in the Broadway District was <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.greenbaypressgazette.com\/story\/news\/local\/2025\/11\/26\/green-bay-bar-stage-1-permanently-closed-amid-liquor-license-lawsuit\/87372887007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">sold in 2023 and later closed<\/a>, ending a decade of live shows by touring and local bands at what had become a favorite space.<\/p>\n<p>The challenge for Johnson was finding the right location. Green Bay Mayor Eric\u00a0Genrich\u00a0helped connect him with property owners to look at available spaces. He checked out the former Children\u2019s Museum of Green Bay location on Washington Street and old Confetti\u2019s nightclub on Walnut Street, among others. As soon as he stepped inside the historic Schauer &amp; Schumacher building, he knew it was the one.<\/p>\n<partner-banner util-module-path=\"elements\/partner\" fluid=\"\" bottom=\"\" lazy=\"\" class=\"spacer-large\" min-height=\"600\" outstream=\"\" momentum=\"\"\/>\n<p>\u201cNothing was a better location than the\u00a0Schauer\u00a0building. The layout is perfect for what I need. The ownership there (Neenah-based\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/profile.php?id=61584498074947\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Investment Creations\u00a0LLC<\/a>), they\u2019re just great. Kind of everything fell into place,\u201d Johnson said. \u201cIt just happens to be right in the heart of downtown right next to the parking ramp, so there\u2019s plenty of parking. It\u2019s one of two Schauer &amp; Schumacher buildings on the busy corner. The other, the former funeral home at 109 N. Adams St., is being renovated to become\u00a0Everson\u00a0Law Firm.<\/p>\n<p>The 425-person capacity for Revelry\u2019s main stage will be more than double what the Lyric Room held and also hits the sweet spot for the kind of artists Johnson likes to bring to town. When he has booked acts like Rev. Horton Heat and Bridge City Sinners at Green Bay Distillery, attendance is typically in the 375 to 450 range. That\u2019s about half-full in the Distillery\u2019s large room. At Revelry, those shows would be sellouts.<\/p>\n<partner-inline util-module-path=\"elements\/partner\" class=\"spacer-large\" placement=\"native-article_link\" sizes=\"[[300, 250], [3, 3]]\" min-height=\"250\" fluid=\"\" outstream=\"\"\/>\n<p class=\"related-link\"><span class=\"exclude-from-newsgate\"><strong style=\"margin-right:3px\">More: <\/strong><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.greenbaypressgazette.com\/story\/entertainment\/music\/2026\/04\/02\/de-pere-grad-photobombs-taylor-swift-travis-kelce-at-awards-show\/89407657007\/\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">De Pere grad photobombs Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce at iHeartRadio awards<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>It would also put Green Bay in the running to land some of the same caliber of acts who routinely play the <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/high-noon.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">High Noon Saloon <\/a>and<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/majesticmadison.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> Majestic\u00a0Theatre<\/a>, both in Madison \u2013 bands that often route around Green Bay, because there isn\u2019t a comparable venue.<\/p>\n<partner-banner util-module-path=\"elements\/partner\" fluid=\"\" bottom=\"\" lazy=\"\" class=\"spacer-large\" min-height=\"390\" outstream=\"\"\/>\n<p>Green Bay and the surrounding area is not without its share of live music venues, but most of them are larger. For example, <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/epicgreenbay.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">EPIC Event Center, <\/a>which opened in\u00a0Ashwaubenon\u00a0five years ago, has room for up to 2,100 for general-admission standing shows. It takes significantly bigger names to fill a room that size. The 1,000-seat <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/meyertheatre.org\/\">Meyer Theatre<\/a> downtown offers a more formal theater setting versus a club atmosphere for punk, metal, rock, alternative and other genres.<\/p>\n<p>Any genre of music is going to feel like a cool fit at Revelry, Johnson said, and he already has several artists booked so the venue can hit the ground running once it opens. The setup will allow for two experiences to happen in one building on any given night \u2013 a ticketed concert upstairs and a bar open to anyone downstairs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s the goal is to bring in a bunch of cool shows and create a new fun place for people to just come and hang out,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"presto-h2 wp-block-heading\">Decor in downstairs will pay tribute to Green Bay&#8217;s music history<\/h2>\n<p>Revelry plans to embrace the architectural features that make the sprawling upstairs space so unique, including the Gothic arches, old-world timber, hardwood floors, brick and large windows. Renovations on the ground floor will begin in May. Because most everything had already been ripped out of the building, the large shell of a space won\u2019t require a lot of demolition, but it will need an elevator, stairwell, electrical, plumbing, paint and other infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>The downstairs bar will have a punk rock feel.
